Rehabilitation works are actively underway on the 21 km section (from km 13 to km 32.6) of the state significance Ozurgeti-Shemokmedi-Bzhuzhhesi-Gomismta motor road. Currently, the installation of an asphalt-concrete surface is in progress.

This rehabilitated section is located in the Ozurgeti municipality and passes through mountainous, uninhabited terrain. The road starts at the Bzhuzhhesi area and ends at the Gomismta resort settlement. Therefore, the construction of a well-maintained road infrastructure on this section is important for the safe and comfortable movement of tourists and visitors.

The existing road was damaged and gravelly. As part of the rehabilitation project, the road surface and artificial structures will be renovated and upgraded. Additionally, local road connections, bus stops, and passenger waiting pavilions will be installed. The project also includes equipping the road with traffic signs, building barriers, installing reflective posts, and marking the road section.

The project is funded by the state budget, with a total value of 18.8 million GEL.
